About Duratec in Detail:
Duratec in Detail is a Facebook page that covered the build of a 265 BHP Duratec engine. The concept was to take good quality photographs rather than describe it, and the blog continued to cover the rebuilds, a Sadev sequential gearbox, and the Geartronics paddle shift installation. Most recently it has blogged the build of a 2.5 litre 300 BHP engine.
Facebook is not an ideal platform for archiving, so this website aims to make the posts and pictures available in an index-able format.
The project vehicle is a Caterham R400 and most of the testing, and competitive events, have been at Knockhill Racing Circiut . There have been many trade partners who have helped beyond a purely commercial basis, namely Northampton Motorsport, Ultimate Performance., and Geartronics. But a special mention must go to TrackScotland who have supported and encouraged the development of the car and engines.
How to use the site
The website has been design with mobile deceives in mind and the menu on the left covers the entire site. The index pages have the same links, but in a format more suitable to a desktop. The links are colour coded blue for facebook blog, yellow for photographs, and red for video. The embedded Facebook posts are in chronological order, and have been broken down into related stages. It is my intention to cross index them by subject matter over time. Please be patient as embedded post can be slow to load.
Photographs are browsed at 600 pixel resolution but can be viewed at full resolution by clicking on them. Not all photos are available in a larger version.
The site is still very much under construction and purely an amateur effort, so please feel free to contact me at Admin@Duratecindetail.com if you spot any errors, broken links or have any suggestions.
I hope you enjoy it.
